Each March we have the opportunity to pause and celebrate the contributions, leadership, and resilience of women across industries. In retail especially, women have long been the backbone of the workforce, from the sales floor to the C-suite, and their leadership continues to shape the future of our industry.

This celebration is especially meaningful to me as the head of a woman-owned business specializing in retail training and development. I took the reins at MOHR Retail after a long and fulfilling career in retail field and corporate operations, where I was a client of MOHR Retail for over 20 years.

I am honored to work alongside an incredibly talented group of women who bring deep expertise, passion for developing leaders, and an unwavering commitment to our clients every day. Their insights, experience, and dedication help us deliver meaningful learning experiences that strengthen leadership teams across the retail industry.

Throughout my career in retail, I have seen firsthand the powerful impact women leaders have on their teams and organizations. They lead with resilience, empathy, accountability, and a strong focus on developing others. These qualities are essential to building strong teams, and they are critical to building strong cultures and successful businesses.

Women’s History Month is also a reminder that while we celebrate progress, there is still work to be done to continue developing and supporting the next generation of women leaders. Mentorship, sponsorship, and leadership development opportunities all play a vital role in helping women grow and thrive in their careers.

This month, I encourage you to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the women who have influenced your career, whether it was a mentor, colleague, leader, or someone who inspired you to grow and lead with confidence.

To the many talented women across the retail industry, and to the remarkable women of MOHR Retail, thank you for the leadership, insight, and passion you bring to our work every day.

Who is a woman leader who has influenced your career?

Drop me a line. I would love to hear your stories.
