Retail expansion is strongest outside the US. While MOHR Retail continues to be the largest and most experienced retail-specific training and consulting company in the US many of our clients are taking us to countries around the globe.

China and Japan continue to lead retail growth overseas.  We have translated our Retail Store Leadership (RSL) program into both Mandarin and Japanese.  This is in addition to the existing versions of RSL in both French-Canadian as well as Spanish.  Our Retail Multiunit Management (RMM) program has been translated into French-Canadian and is being used by several companies who do business across our northern border in Canada.  Many of the managers and participants in our training do speak English however our translation goes well beyond just mechanical translation of words.

Working with Agnew International we are able to have retailers in country not just translators.  That means that the words used to refer to “store”, “customer”, and “sale” are culturally appropriate and many times even regionally adjusted so that native-speaking retailers relate quickly to the examples and concepts.  Being a retail-specific company we know that when participants relate to what’s being taught they’re more likely to actually use it to create results back on the job.

Is your company expanding outside the US?  Tweet us @mohrretail and let us know how you’re handling the translations.
