Did you know that even with the best training only about 16-24% of participants actually use what they learn back on the job?  I don’t know about your company but for us that’s just not good enough.  There’s another statistic though that is encouraging.  If participants in training get some type of reinforcement whether from their boss or another source reminding them about the training they received the percentage of use goes up; way up.  Over 85%-90% use is reported when training participants are either asked or reminded about the training they attended.

An old boss of mine used to say, “If you can’t motivate someone to do something you have to automate.”  We take that to mean that if you can’t always count on the boss or someone else reminding participants to use what they learned you have to automate it.  And that’s just what we did.

The “+” from us is a web-based platform that provides a single question about some part of critical content managers or buyers have learned in our training.  It takes less than 30 seconds for them to answer but it puts that content back in play.  It reminds them that if they use it now with their vendors or associates or customers they will be more productive.

We have RMM+ online already for our multiunit management participants.  In a few weeks we’re launching our RNS+ or Retail Negotiation Series reinforcement for all buyers, category managers, and assistants.  When you sign up for training with MOHR Retail you always have the opportunity to get great training plus.  How do you ensure your participants use what they learn?  Tweet us @mohrretail or leave a comment here to share.  Let’s learn together.
